There are many games that exhibit quirks even on original hardware. Many times these present themselves on TerraOnion's products and are not actually bugs. We will attempt to compile these for users along with fixes where applicable.

Mode - Dreamcast

  • Alone in the Dark (US) - The intro video is badly mastered and the static produced is sadly, normal.
  • Unreal Tournament (US) -If the language is not set to English in the Dreamcast bios settings, the game will crash when launching deathmatch.
  • Many Games will not work in VGA (list to come).

Mode - Saturn

  • Bug! (all versions) - Third Party Controllers (retro-bit, brook adapters) sometimes have issues working properly when launching this game. This is a controller issue and not a MODE issue.
  • Croc (US & EU version) - Croc will not initialize properly on some Saturns causing him to appear "headless" in game. To fix this either launch the game from the CD menu or use a mode.cfg (Flags=18) to assist with this launch.
  • Crusader: No Remorse - Slight audio crackles. This happens with the original disc as well.
  • Die Hard Trilogy is known to hang on boot when certain "Red"/"Black" Cart / 4-in-1 Action Replays are used. This is a hardware issue, not a MODE compatibility issue.
  • Hearts of Darkness (Proto) requires a "Developer's RAM cart" and will not run with any known hardware.
  • In the Hunt (all versions) - The game will sometimes fail to load if a controller is plugged in. Plug in the controller only after the game is past the intro screen.
  • Slam 'n Jam '96 - On some model Saturns the game will not work properly unless it is launched from the CD menu. use a mode.cfg (Flags=18) to assist with this launch.
  • Virtua Fighter Remix for SegaNet (JP) - will not run without a SegaNet adapter
